Sutter Physician to Receive
"Honor Thy Healer" Award
We are pleased to announce that SMCSR physician, Amy Shaw, M.D., has been awarded "The Francine Levien Activist Award" by Marin Breast Cancer Watch. The award, presented during the organization’s annual Honor Thy Healer event on March 18, honors the individual who embodies the spirit, vision, and strength of the founder of Marin Breast Cancer Watch Francine Levien who passed away in 2001.
Dr. Shaw is a member of the SMCSR/SWH Board of Trustees, the Medical Director of the Sutter Women’s Health Resource Center in Santa Rosa, and a physician champion for the cause of breast cancer prevention and treatment. She has been the driving force behind the establishment of the new Sutter Breast Care Center and the first Breast Care Symposium in Sonoma County that was held recently.
Marin Breast Cancer Watch is a non-profit organization whose mission is to find the causes and stop the epidemic of breast cancer through research, education, and advocacy.
