Celebrate National Doctor's Day

Dear Friend,

The doctors at Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa believe that ours is the most fulfilling work in the world. Every day, we’re given the chance to interact with patients and their family members in significant ways, improving and even saving lives. We understand what an incredible privilege it is for our patients to entrust us with their care.

When I was growing up, my mother was a nurse. She loved her job. Although I didn’t realize it at the time, I’m sure that her enthusiasm for patient care played a part in inspiring my own choice of career. As an internist for the past 25 years, I have been privileged to deal with many types of patients, each of whom has been unique and special to me.

Every year on the national holiday known as Doctors' Day, America’s hospitals honor their physicians. I’m writing today to invite you to join Sutter Medical Center’s 2012 celebration of medical excellence.

Without mentioning the amount, the hospital will send the physician you choose to recognize a notification of your thoughtfulness.

For a physician, a "thank you" from a patient or a patient’s family member is the most highly valued accolade we can receive. It is also a reflection on the hospital itself. Health care is a team effort, and every Doctors’ Day gift honors many deserving people.

All the doctors who practice at Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa are aware of the enormous importance of philanthropic support to the high quality and wide range of programs and services we are able to offer our patients.

Keeping our facilities and technology up-to-date is a never-ending process. It is a challenge that we couldn't meet without help from generous members of our community.
